Welcome to Saltbox Solar - a proposed utility-scale project that will provide clean, renewable energy for New England. Saltbox Solar will deliver enough clean energy to power approximately 15,000 homes.
Once operational, we expect that Saltbox Solar will:

Solar energy is an eco-friendly domestic power source that is inexhaustible and affordable. Saltbox Solar will decrease CO2 emissions by an estimated 115,000 metric tons annually based on estimates from the EPA, countering the output from traditional fossil fuel-run power plants.
Our commitment to a sustainable future is reflected in our community engagement plans implemented at all of our projects. We look forward to beginning this outreach with the Ellington and East Windsor communities as we develop the project. Saltbox Solar will contribute meaningfully to the towns’ economies as a significant taxpayer, protect our environment, and increase the sustainability of our electrical grid. Upon retirement of the project, all equipment will be removed, and the improved topsoil will be preserved so future generations can utilize the land.
